The Life
Cast foundry offers sculptures in
a Cold Cast medium used to produce lower costing sculptures. The Cold Cast
Resin product is lower in price due to significantly lower production costs.
It is not as durable as Bronze, but it is definitely a fine product. It
means that more people can enjoy selected images of the artist without a
large price tag. Select
sculptures may be available in Traditional Bronze Casting.
Cold Cast Bronze
is
made from a minimum of 50% bronze powder, locked in with a resin. Each piece
is hand cast, hand polished and patinated. Bronze when first polished
exhibits a high gloss finish unless patinated. As with Hot Cast Bronze
sculptures, the cold cast bronze sculptures will oxidize and change color
over time, the environment they are placed in will determine the amount and
speed of the oxidization.

Bronze is
most enduring of sculptural mediums. Each piece is hand polished.
Some of the castings are treated with an additional chemical treatment to give
them a weathered verdigris
All of this is very time consuming
process. It is a medium that can be treasured for generations, Producing each casting
(cold or molten) is
labor intense and time consuming, but the results can be seen in the details.
